Sunday Mass
Sunday Mass In our Churches
Children's Liturgy of the Word (when possible)
During the Liturgy of the Word, children who are old enough to take part are invited to go with Catechists to take part in activities that support the Gospel message. They return to their parents in church during the Procession of the Gifts.
Refreshments
On Sunday mornings, after the 10.30am Mass in Ulverston, coffee, tea and biscuits are available in the lounge of the Parish Social Centre with some socialising.
Roles Supporting the Liturgy
Altar Servers
Children who have made their first Holy Communion can become altar servers. Good servers enable us to celebrate Mass and other sacraments in a spirit of prayer.
Ministers of Holy Communion
Ministers assist with the distribution of Holy Communion at each weekend Mass and on Holy days. A number of ministers take the Eucharist to those who are sick and housebound.
Welcomers
These volunteers welcome people to the weekend masses and are available to help and advise visitors.
Liturgy Readers
A rota of readers proclaim the Word of God and lead our intercessions at the weekend Masses.
Music Ministry
At the present time, various individuals and groups provide music for our Sunday morning worship, including younger people. A rota of volunteers also sing the responsorial psalm at Sunday morning Mass in Ulverston.
Offertory Procession (when possible)
A family or other group bring the gifts to the altar at the Offertory at the Sunday morning Mass. They are selected at the beginning of the Mass.
